The new service allows passengers to have internet access from boarding to disembarking the aircraft.
In order to provide a travel experience that exceeds expectations, Turkish Airlines is strengthening the internet service provided on its aircraft.
The airline, which has offered internet above the clouds since 2011, will extend the service that used to be activated only when the aircraft was above 10.000 feet (3,048 km). The service will be uninterrupted from the moment the aircraft doors are closed until they are opened at the destination, making it a “Gate to Gate” internet service.
About the new technology, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat stated: “We are happy to extend our internet coverage area as an airline that flies to more countries than any other and offers the widest coverage of international connections. We will continue to work on new technologies to provide the best of the virtual world, just as we do with the real one.”
Starting the “Gate to Gate” service on a total of 131 aircraft, 74 narrow-body and 57 wide-body, from May, Turkish Airlines will extend this service to other aircraft that provide internet in its fleet gradually.
