The award crowned Seychelles as the top Indian Ocean Honeymoon Destination and named the Archipelago, for the second year in a row, the World's Most Romantic Destination.

During the 29th World Travel Awards held at the Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya, Seychelles was awarded the 'Top Indian Ocean Honeymoon Destination 2022'. In addition, the archipelago has won three additional titles, including the 'Top Indian Ocean Cruise Destination 2022'; the port of Victoria was named 'Indian Ocean's Leading Cruise Port' and Air Seychelles won 'Indian Ocean's Leading Airline'.

About the award, one of the most prestigious in the tourism sector, Bernadette Willemin, General Director of Marketing for the destination, highlighted: “We are undeniably proud of our achievements; romance and cruises continue to be two important segments for the industry. Among the thousands of annual visitors, Seychelles also welcomes a large number of couples who come to celebrate their love in a remote tropical paradise. Our shores have witnessed countless fairytale-like engagements, weddings and honeymoons. We are honored to be associated with the best feeling in the world.”

In addition to these, the archipelago has retained its 2021 nomination as the World's Most Romantic Destination and Best Honeymoon Destination in the Indian Ocean. Seychelles competed against other world-class Indian Ocean destinations.
