In its first edition, the Olive Oil Festival, in Rio Grande do Sul, celebrated the record harvest of the product and moved the state between the 27th and 29th of May. The program involved gastronomy, olive oil tasting, lectures, handicrafts, concerts and cultural presentations.
The event, held in Caçapava do Sul – cradle of olive growing in the state – was launched with such importance that the state government symbolically transferred the works there.
In addition to Governor Ranolfo Vieira Jr., secretaries Domingos Velho Lopes (Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development), Edson Brum (Economic Development), Raphael Ayub (Tourism) and Beatriz Araujo (Culture). The vice president of the Republic General Mourão and other authorities were also present. With all this, a series of enterprises and tourist experiences grow in the region.
“We are proud to see our state developing and standing out in the most diverse areas and cultures. Our olive oil is already a reference in quality in the world”, emphasizes Lúcia Hoffmann Bentz, president of ABAV-RS.
