London is full of art and culture lovers. The megalopolis has several of the most important museums and galleries in the world, in addition to several inspiring collectives and activities. And of course, on our way there, we took the opportunity to check out what's new and take a deep dive into London's artistic expression.
Our first stop was the new wing of the Tate Modern. The museum is a world reference in modern art (it receives around 4,7 million visitors every year) even though it is quite new (only 12 years old) and is still a very charming tour – we recommend arriving at the museum from the millennium bridge, a landmark experience in London's postcard.
If you are in the region, we also highly recommend a visit to Southbank, a complex of galleries and concert venues, like the famous Royal Festival Hall.
The collection of Tate it features works by many renowned artists, including Brazilian ones, such as Hélio Oiticica and Cildo Meirelles. There, most of the galleries have free admission. The museum's opening hours are:
From Monday to Thursday, from 10 am to 18 pm.
Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 22 pm.
Another stop on Sonder was the Barbican, a cultural center that supports various artistic expressions, such as dance, theater, music and exhibitions. There, we check out the Modern Couples show, which tells how love stories between great artists inspired creativity in art. Among the names present at the exhibition are Dora Maar and Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí and Federico García Lorca, as well as Virgínia Woolf, a reference in LGBT literature. Those who love art will feel at home, and we are sure that you will love the tips that we separate. But calm down, we still haven't stopped with the tips of our beloved London. Our next subject is eating and drinking. You won't lose, right? Keep an eye on the blog to follow.
And don't forget, mind the gap between the train and the platform. Until!
