With initiatives that seek to reduce environmental impacts and preserve the world's biodiversity, Monaco has become a benchmark in sustainability. The Principality, which aims to achieve carbon neutrality by the year 2050, has implemented several measures across the country, ranging from the use of electric transport to actions in the tourist area to promote more ecological activities.
In this context, the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo, a five-star development in Monaco, launches an exclusive cocktail party to raise funds for the Association of Friends of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco. Called “Sea You at M”, the drink consists of vodka, coconut rum, blue liqueur, pink syrup and pineapple juice. Mixed together, they form a drink in different shades of blue, reminiscent of the colors of the sea.
The cocktail will be available for consumption in the Hotel Metropole's lobby bar until next year at a cost of 29 euros. There is also a non-alcoholic version for 24 euros. One euro will be donated for each sale made to the Association to benefit the protection of marine life and the ocean.
The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco has more than 6.000 species and promotes the program “Sponsor a Fish” – Sponsor a Fish, in Portuguese – which works to preserve marine life and monitor the oceans. With an important research center and a sea turtle rehabilitation clinic, the museum and its association are active agents in raising awareness and protecting the marine ecosystem.
Since 2007, the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo has been committed to sustainability and promotes an environmental policy called “Green Attitude”. Among the actions already implemented by the enterprise: recycling of water and energy, training with employees and encouraging the purchase of natural and organic products. Recently, the hotel was recognized for having the “Best Sustainability Policy in Hotels in the World”, an international award granted by the Prix Villégiature, after a careful evaluation by 20 renowned journalists of different nationalities.
